RECEIVING A PASS THE FIRST TOUCH
  • 1 Watch the flight of the ball
  • 2 position body behind the ball
  • 3 Determine body part to receive ball while its on its way
  • 4 Move into space with the first touch (away from danger )
  • 5 After the touch ,move with the ball (do NOT stand still
  • 6 Never take your eye off the ball
  • 7 As the ball touches the foot,move foot away from the ball to absorb its energy
RECEIVING A PASS
  • 1 Prior to the pass, create the trigger: Draw the defender (look at/touch the defender)
  • 2 Check to the ball to create space from the pressure of the defence
  • 3 Receive the pass: use a lead foot to protect the ball and keep the body between the ball and the defense (do not receive the ball with your hips square)
